Welcome!

It is with pleasure that we welcome you to the website dedicated to the Special Interest Group (SIG) #2 on Charge Spin and Momentum Densities (CSMD) of the European Crystallographic Association (ECA). This website is not yet fully operational and many functionalities are still under development. However, since there are so many events currently being promoted by or of interest to our SIG we thought worth to highlight them now. By the end of September we plan to make this website fully operational, the most important improvement being the possiblity to become official members and to be so included in the SIG mailing list. Moreover, sections dedicated to papers, books and links suggested by the members will be added.

If you want to learn more about this group and its main interests just click on SIG #2 in the menu on the left side. Here below, you'll find the Highlights section, with forthcoming events. Past, present and future appointments along with some useful recommendations can be found in NEWS & EVENTS, CONFERENCES and OPPORTUNITIES sections.

***HIGHLIGHTS***

  • Sagamore XVI
    Santa Fe, New Mexico, USA
    August 2-7, 2009

The conference addresses broad-ranging issues concerning electron charge, spin and momentum densities in a wide class of materials. Seven sessions on cutting-edge topics in CSMD activities are planned. SIG#2 members are largely involved as part of the Scientific Committee, as Session chairs or speakers.
  • 25th European Crystallographic Meeting
    Istanbul, Turkey
    August 9-14, 2009

SIG#2 sent to the ECM-25 organizers timely proposals (title/chairs) for microsymposia (MS) and keynote lectures. Common MS with SIG#1, SIG#7 and SIG#6/12/13 have been proposed and accepted (see program).
  • International Workshop on the Analysis of the Electron Density
    Marrakech, Maroc
    October 28-30, 2009

A school devoted to disseminate knowledge on ED studies from high resolution X-ray diffraction data within the African/Magrebin communities. The school is held by international teachers, most of them coming from our SIG.
